Liverpool are not in the chase for Victor Osimhen, according to Caughtoffside’s Daily Briefing with Neil Jones.
The Reds have a number of attacking options already, and despite their interest it seems they won’t be going all out for the world class Nigeria forward.
That leaves the way clear for Chelsea to swoop for the striker – although we’re not confident we’ll be doing that in January. Unless Osimhen makes an unprecedented push to leave Napoli, their position is strong and they won’t be letting their star man leave.
Chelsea also probably need some time to marshall their resources, make some sales and get things in order before they break any more transfer records. They’re sailing close to the wind on FFP already, and unlikely to have the room
So while it’s good that Liverpool don’t look like they’ll be in the chase, it may prove a moot point if 3 or 4 other European giants are.
