First up in Mauricio Pochettino’s press conference today was injury news, as ever.
The manager was able to confirm right off the bat that Armando Broja would be out for tomorrow’s game against Brentford. Clearly the striker’s long absence from the first team has made it tricky to recover from the two starts in a week he made before the international break.
We wonder if Pochettino and his medical staff are rueing their decision to play him in the second of those games. Either way, he’s out for this one.
Brentford are always a unique and powerful defensive test and it’s a shame to not have Broja as a bench option at the very least. But we looked good in a strikerless formation against Arsenal, and we expect that setup from the start tomorrow, with Nicolas Jackson ready to enter from the bench to provide a physical option if necessary.
