Chelsea launch superb new campaign to get new generation of fans in to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have launched a new initiative which will see 500 local fans go to their first game at Stamford Bridge.

In a great little project called the My First Game initiative, 30 tickets for every game being played at the Bridge for the rest of the season by men’s and women’s teams will be made available for those living in the area who have never had a chance to go.

Living near the Bridge is a dream for many Blues, but must often be a nightmare for local residents, with crowds, traffic and noise throughout the season. This is a sweet way to get them involved and excited when they might not previously have thought they’re interested, or might not be able to afford match day tickets.

Club director Lord Daniel Finkelstein is behind the idea as he looks for more community outreach projects, and he said the following in a statement on the club website:

“We are delighted to announce the My First Game initiative, which will see over 500 local residents being offered the opportunity to attend their first-ever match at the prestigious home of Chelsea Football Club.

“The scheme will potentially see over 250 children, who either live or attend school locally, attending their first match free of charge, helping to grow the next generation of match-going Chelsea fans.

“Chelsea Football Club has a home in the heart of south-west London, yet many local residents and communities will never step foot inside the stadium. The My First Game initiative is designed to change that.”

We will see you down there, guys!
