Chelsea winger Myhailo Mudryk looked to have made his breakthrough at last just a few weeks ago, but the impressive form of Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer in Mauricio Pochettino’s first team has relegated Mudryk to the bench again, and he’s been waiting for these international breaks to pick up minutes.
He’s always a starter for Ukraine, and he played tonight against Italy as both teams competed to qualify for the Euros next summer. The youngster ended up being part of the game’s dramatic conclusion too – but not in the way he would have wanted.
