Chelsea’s worrying striker situation may lead them back to €70m striker

Chelsea’s striker situation is getting critical, and the dark reality is starting to set in.

The worst case scenario is that neither Nicolas Jackson nor Armando Broja are good enough to be our permanent centre forwards, and that the best options on the market – Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney, are too expensive or too unwilling to come to us.

It’s not a nice position to be in, but it seems every passing week brings us closer to that being the reality. We may have to start looking further down our list, and as TeamTalk note in their report today, that may mean returning to a summer target – Dusan Vlahovic, who joined Juventus little under a year ago and is rated by Transfermarkt at €70m.

The report claims that the Serbian striker is worried that his chance of a Premier League move has diminished as interested parties Arsenal and Chelsea have moved on. But we see it the other way. The needs of both clubs to sign a new striker have only increased, while the options on the market haven’t changed.

  1. Don’t tell us tell the owners. We already know Vlahovic is good enough for us. BUT apparently the owners don’t. So let them spend us into the graveyard.
