€30m price tag could end up looking cheap as other European giants circle

Chelsea’s insatiable hunger for Brazilian teenagers knows no limits it seems.

They haven’t even figured out what to do with players like Andrey Santos yet, but they’re already hungry for the next one. According to the rumours we’re seeing bubble up consistently over the last few weeks, that could be Gabriel Moscardo.

The 18 year old is a deep lying playmaker with a well developed all round game for his age, and Chelsea were linked with him in the summer.

A report today in CalcioMercato about AC Milan’s interest in the player claimed that we pursued him back in the summer, when we offered €21m, with his club Corinthians holding out for €30m.

Perhaps we will return, perhaps we won’t. It seems Moscardo has only improved since then, and we might end up wishing we had simply paid up at the time.

Still, if Romeo Lavia ends up being a smash hit, signing yet more midfielders could end up looking totally silly.
