Pochettino says one of his players now needs to make “double effort” to get picked

Mauricio Pochettino says that one of his players now needs to make double effort in order to get picked going forward.

These latest words have come from the embargoed section of Friday’s press conference, part two. For some reason when we have Sunday games they release two extra segments from it on embargoed times. It’s all very odd and once again, probably just down to money.

EXCLUSIVE! Signing on fee putting Chelsea off key target, Osimhen the ‘dream’, and scouting intensely stepped up for another striker!

But either way, Pochettino has been speaking about Christopher Nkunku after he has just returned from a long term injury.

Before Tuesday night, he had yet to kick a ball for Chelsea in a competitive match, having got injured during pre-season.

But now he is back and available again, but Pochettino says he is now going to have to work hard to get a place in the team and get himself back to full match fitness in order to make the difference that everyone has been hyping him up to make.

In words cited by The Daily Mail, Pochettino said on Nkunku: “I am not going to pressure him. We are going to push him to help him to perform every day. He needs also to understand he has to push himself. He needs to make double effort because he must have an impact.”
