Mauricio Pochettino has been cornered by Chelsea’s in hose media team for a quick chat about COle Palmer, who was rather unexpectedly left out today.
We suspected it was the start of some rotation, given we play two games next week, but in fact Pochettino has revealed that Cole “felt something” in terms of an injury, so he’s been left out for Mykhailo Mudryk for this game:
“Cole felt something during the week and I think we don’t want to take a risk because we have too many games and we are going into this period where we don’t want to take a risk.”
Palmer is on the bench for this game, so clearly the issue can’t be too bad. We expect to see him in the second half of this game if we’re not ahead. On the other hand, we’re sure the medical staff would dearly like to see him get a full game off, given he’s got an issue and there are so many games to come.
The problem is, there’s not that much else on the bench if we need a goal.
