Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino massively boosted by early return of striker

Although Chelsea have yet to sign a new striker this window, which is what they had been looking to do, they have now been boosted by the early return of one.

As you will know, the AFCON is currently being played out, and that means that Premier League clubs lose a number of their top players for a period of time, depending on how far the club that they play for goes in the competition.

Chelsea’s notable loss has been Nicolas Jackson, who has been at AFCON with Senegal. They qualified out of the group stage but thankfully for Chelsea and unfortunately for Jackson and Senegal, they have now been knocked out of the competition, losing to Ivory Coast on penalties last night!

Jackson should now be back and available for the Wolves game for Chelsea, whereas if Senegal didn’t get knocked out, he could have missed three more Chelsea matches!
