One of the stranger links between Chelsea and a potential January signing has just bubbled up.
Nathan Gissing, who definitely has some decent connections and the club, and wouldn’t stick his neck out with such an odd link unless there was some truth to it, has claimed that we’re looking at Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran as a potential January signing.
Gissing describes the move as “short term” so it’s presumably a loan, although that’s not made entirely clear. Duran is valued at €17m on Transfermarkt.
What’s odd about this is that Duran is not the experienced veteran you’d expect us to be linked to as we look to add some goals to our team at this point in the season. He’s a 20 year old with 2 league goals to his name in England.
If we were going got buy him, why not just risk Deivid Washington instead? He’s not much older or more experienced. This is a very hard one to get your head around, and we are interested to see what comes of it.
