Matt Law has just published an update in the Telegraph on the Ian Maatsen to Borussia Dortmund transfer story, keeping up the momentum and making it seem very much like a move that could be sorted quickly.
The key detail in this update is that there is positivity on both sides despite the fact that one of the fundamental questions of the deal hasn’t been sorted out – whether it will be a loan or a permanent transfer, or even possibly some combination of the two.
This backs up what we wrote yesterday – ultimately this looks like a move that all three parties are happy with, so even large questions like the structure of the deal can be sorted out fairly easily. Everyone is pulling in the same direction.
Importantly, Law adds that Dortmund’s interest in Maatsen is not linked with their interest in Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, who could join them on loan.
