Yesterday saw reports of Chelsea bidding for a new striker this week, reports that were soon shut down by the mainstream.
There is never any smoke without fire though, and a second source has now backed up claims that Chelsea HAVE sent an offer for a new striker.

As cited by Sport Witness, Record in Portugal’s front page story on Tuesday claimed that Chelsea are offering €80m for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres, an offer that was apparently rejected right away.
Another newspaper, Correio da Manhã, backs up the information about the Blues’ attempt for the 25-year-old.
The outlet claims Chelsea are currently ‘on top of the list’ of clubs who want Gyokeres, and indeed put that much money on the table.
They also go on to say that Sporting are now going to try and get the player’s release clause even higher by extending his contract with them. They really don’t want to sell!
