While the rest of us sit back in the office trying to shake off the post-festive Blues while the wind howls outside, Chelsea’s first team are back in action at Cobham training.
After a Mauricio Pochettino sanctioned few days off, the group were back with big smiles ready for 2024. There were even a couple of new faces out there. After long spells on the sidelines, Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell were spotted with the main group.
That should put them just a few weeks away from match fitness and readiness to return to play. And the fact we’ve got 3 cup games against lower league opposition coming up in the next few weeks is the perfect time to reintroduce them to action.
It’s been a long painful wait, but both provide vital depth and options to the squad, and we can’t wait to see them playing:
