It’s been a turbulent few days for Enzo Fernandez.
He’s been caught up in the rumours about him wanting to leave Chelsea, and he sent a big message tonight. After scoring a brilliant free kick, his celebration was used to make it clear he wants to stay, as he removed his shirt and pointed to the ground.
At full time it was more of the same – as the players went to applaud the away fans – who were incredible tonight.
Enzo took the chance to do more pointing at himself and more pointing at the floor, between applause. The message is clear, and much appreciated. We’re sure not many people believed the unlikely rumours, but this should draw a line under it.
It’s also great to see Ben Chilwell accompanying him and pointing at him. That’s a captain doing his bit right there.
