“I done you once” – Two former England internationals raving about Chelsea player

Chelsea had another big result away from home last night beating Crystal Palace 3-1.

The scoreline does not really tell the whole story though, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side going down 1-0 in the first half after an abysmal 45 minutes.

They turned things around in the second half and thanks to two vital goals from Conor Gallagher, and then a third to finish them off from Enzo Fernandez, Chelsea won the game late on. They were lucky really in the end, despite an improved performance in the second half.

Enzo’s goal was just superb though, and he ended up just teasing the defender and the goalkeeper as he took his time to pick his spot and score the third goal for Chelsea.

This goal has been raved about by two former England internationals Glenn Hoddle and Michael Owen, with the pair reviewing the game.

They also had some great things to say about Enzo himself.

In words cited by SPTC today, Hoddle said: “Palace send everyone up, and rightly so, they have to take a chance, it’s a set play. One pass forward and look at the space they have got.

“They are now two v two. Then it becomes three v two really. He makes so much ground up. I love this. This is an eight-a-side goal when you are playing no offsides. He (Fernandez) has chopped it back on the defender, but it’s a fabulous run from Palmer.

“He keeps his head, he is waiting and waiting. Then there it is, the little chop back there. I done you once, I done it twice. I will put it in the top corner, shall I?! Fabulous finish, it really is.”

Michael Owen added: “Just class, isn’t he?! In fact, I was shouting ‘pass it’. Then he took his time, and another five minutes later, he is shimming, then he puts it in. He is absolute top class.”
