“Nearly crying” – Pochettino claims he did actually shake hands with Todd Boehly

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino claims that he did actually shake hands with Todd Boehly after the League Cup Final defeat against Liverpool, even though it appeared on video footage that he did not.

I mean, from the footage below it really does look like he only shakes hands with the other co-owner Behdad Eghbali and completely misses Todd Boehly. But apparently that was not the case.

After Chelsea lost to Liverpool in extra time and then walking up the steps to receive participation medals, Pochettino claims that he did shake the hands of both of the Chelsea owners at this point, as reported by The Telegraph late last night.

Pochettino said: “When I went up the steps at Wembley, I was so upset. Nearly crying. When I arrived there, it was so difficult to stop myself. But when I saw Behdad, I saw Todd and I shook hands with both of them, one of them with one hand, the other with my other hand.”

You can see him using two hands and I guess the footage might not be clear enough to see that maybe he did get Boehly’s hand as well. Either way, at the time it was heavily reported that he refused to shake Boehly’s hand after the final. But I guess it seems he did!
