One good and one bad thing from Mauricio Pochettino’s lineup decisions to take on Villa

Mauricio Pochettino has been able to put Nicolas Jackson into his starting team for the first time since December today, which will be a boost.

Neither Armando Broja nor Cole Palmer used as a false 9 really convinced as an option while Jackson was out, and for all his flaws the Blues missed his hard running and work holding the ball up. Everyone is praying that his return will give the whole team a boost they desperately need

What will be frustrating for Pochettino is that he’s tonight denied a chance to put his strongest team of fit players out, because Christopher Nkunku is rested after making just his second start as a Blue on Sunday.

Jackson returning to the starting lineup should give us more of a presence up top – hopefully we can stay in the game until later when Nkunku can be unleashed to try and grab a goal to win it.
