So naturally all the talk turns to Gallagher and his future. We all know that he has a contract that ends in the summer of 2025 and that there has been no agreement for a new contract yet. We also know that Tottenham have consistently been linked as one of the clubs that want to sign him.
Yet the Telegraph have released an ‘exclusive’ today with the headlines basically being what we all already know above.
They say Tottenham are expected to make a push to try and sign him, and that despite talks happening, there has been no new contract agreement yet between Chelsea and Gallagher.
None of that is a shock and all of that is VERY obvious but perfectly timed.
The surprising bit is deep into the article, and it is actually good news for Blues fans wanting Gallagher to stay.
It says the expectation remains that Chelsea will make Gallagher some sort of contract offer to extend his deal, but an agreement is still far from certain.
So look at that, he could even stay and sign an extension, why didn’t they run that as the exclusive headline I wonder!?
