Two of Liverpool’s top attacking stars could still miss cup final vs Chelsea

Chelsea face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final this weekend as the two sides battle it out to win the first domestic trophy possibility of the season.

Chelsea have done so well to get to the final during a period of time that was at the very least, hugely inconsistent leading up to it. There has been turmoil, doom and gloom, and pressure on yet another manager. But now, Mauricio Pochettino has a real chance to lift a trophy in his first season at Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool stand in his way though, and that is a pretty tough opponent to try and beat. Liverpool only recently thrashed Chelsea in the league, but they are now also struggling with a number of injuries to key first team players, just like Chelsea have been all season and even before that.

The Times are reporting that Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez are serious doubts for Wednesday’s Premier League game at home to Luton Town and will have to be continually assessed in the build-up to Sunday’s Carabao Cup final with Chelsea.
