Why tonight is the night for midfielder’s first start after long absence

We thought it might come in the first leg 10 days ago, but instead it looks like tonight is the night where Carney Chukwuemeka makes his return to the starting lineup for Chelsea for the first time since his injury in August.

Firstly, there’s a need for rotation in midfield. Plus there’s the fact that we lost both games last week heavily, and Mauricio Pochettino must surely be planning some kind of changes to mix things up and try and get his team firing.

We weren’t able to beat Villa in the home leg of this tie, so it’s hard to see us winning away at a raucous Villa Park without major changes. Bringing Carney into the team against his old side should be one of them. He can potentially play either in the midfield or in the front 3 as it’s been for most of this season. But it’s also very possible we see a change of system from Pochettino tonight creating a new role for him.

  1. Their are to many talents player’s in squad but the manager don’t know who is the right one to play . He pick and play them in the wrong position . To me I play Silva / badiashile as CB . Fullback Gilchrist or chalobah as RB , chilwell as LB or gusto . Defensive midfielder Desasi caceido . Wingers Palmer / mudryk.chukwemeka / NKunKu .
