Ousmane Diomande is a name we’re hearing more and more often in connection with Chelsea.
The Sporting Lisbon defender is the right age and is developing nicely in a team competing for the title in Portugal. If we can get our financial situation in order, we can easily see the 20 year old being a top target for us. There aren’t many players of that age with so much accumulated top flight experience in Europe.
The problem is that it seems we’re not the only ones who have noticed his quality. A piece in the Sun today claims that Arsenal have started watching him too. Having initially gone to watch Viktor Gyokeres, another one of our targets,
For as much as he looks like a great target for us, and ideally suited to our current player purchasing model, he looks just as well suited for Arsenal. And to make things even more gloomy, they’ve got more money to spend this summer, and more to offer the youngster in terms of European football etc.
He might not be the only top target we end up missing out on this summer.
