There may be some rather interested Chelsea headlines next month, regarding Roman Abramovich’s time as owner.
An exclusive in the Daily Mail this evening has claimed that a legal case could force the club to have to reveal the financial details of transfer deals during that period.
The CPS told the Mail that a request was made by football agent Saif Rubie as part of his ongoing legal case against former Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia, who has accused him of demanding payments.
It is looking more and more likely that the new ownership will have to release some of these details, potentially dragging up more controversial payments from before their time in charge.
It’s the last thing they want or need right now, and the fact that new ownership chief Todd Boehly has been pictured at Stamford Bridge with Rubie isn’t great for them either.
Something to keep an eye out for next month.
