Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has faced questions about his uncertain Chelsea future this week whilst out on international duty with England.
The Chelsea captain’s armband wearer started for England against Brazil on Saturday night but could not stop them losing to a poor Brazilian team really. England were worse, but that’s a different story.
Sources: The left back coming to the forefront of Chelsea’s target list for the summer!
Gallagher has been a regular feature under Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea this season and as noted above, Pochettino has been handing Gallagher the captains armband whenever Reece James and Ben Chilwell have been unavailable, which is a lot!
There’s no doubts that Pochettino loves Gallagher and sees him as indispensable, but do the owners and decision makers at the club? With his contract running out in 2025, there are plenty of rumours suggesting the club will sell Gallagher this summer for pure profit, with no sign of a new contract being agreed yet.
He was asked about this in an interview on England duty this week, but Gallagher insists the lack of clarity will not affect his football should be receive the Euros call.
“When it comes to it I’ll be focusing on England and the task in hand,” he said.
