Nicolas Jackson has admitted that he should have a lot more goals than he currently does this season.
Jackson has impressed in his first season in English football and helped the Blues make the Carabao Cup final as well as scoring a hat trick against rivals Tottenham.
The 22 year old has proved to be versatile as he has impressed on the flanks and down the middle following his summer arrival from Villareal.
Despite reaching double figures for goals in his first season at Stamford Bridge including recent goals against Aston Villa, Leeds and Brentford the Senegalese international feels he should have scored more.
Speaking to the club’s official website he said: “It’s not enough because I have missed a lot, for me, I should have a lot more, but every game I try to make the team win and help my team mates. My team mates have helped me as well so every game, even if I don’t score, I want to win.”
Jackson added: “I have missed a lot of chances. I should have more than 11 goals, but for me, it is just the beginning and I’m just starting to feel pleased in England. I keep moving forward.”
Jackson has been a key player for Mauricio Pochettino this season and has made 30 appearances across all competitions this season scoring 11 goals and adding three assists.
The forward will be hoping he can add to his goal tally when the Blues return to action on Monday night in a crunch game against Newcastle at Stamford Bridge.
