(Image): 18 year old goal machine trains with Chelsea first team – and even joins training game

The first pictures of Hafiz Umar Ibrahim training with the Chelsea squad have been released, as you can see above.

The teenage striker bust onto the scene with some impressive performances in a youth tournament in Italy, and then did some trials at various clubs around Europe. But it’s Chelsea who managed to secure a visa for him and have brought him to London to see what he can do.

The 18 year old apparently already featured in a training game featuring the first team earlier this week, making up the numbers in mixed sessions with plenty of other youngsters while the much of the senior squad was away on international duty.

If he does well, the idea seems to be to get Ibrahim signed up and playing for Strasbourg, with a view to a move back to the mothership in the future.

Currently an Ojodu City player in his native Nigeria, the 6ft 2in forward seems to be one of Joe Shields’ discoveries.
