Football London‘s summary of our current transfer situation has some very interesting notes in it.
People following the development of this squad closely will have drawn most of the same conclusions, but there are some interesting fresh snippets in there regardless. Two players are picked out as stars who the team have followed closely, without having made an offer.
Antonee Robinson and Viktor Gyokeres have both had plenty of interest since before January, although this piece insists that that interest has never solidified into anything beyond scouting missions – at least not yet.
On the Fulham left back it’s claimed that there is “nothing more than admirations… although that could chance in the summer window.”
On the Sporting striker, fans are assured that despite rumours of a January move, their sources assure them that “such reports were wide of the mark.”
After an extremely quiet January all around the league, it feels like this summer is going to be extra spicy, with a lot of teams having carefully saved their budget. First will come sales, and only after that will we get a sense of which of these targets Chelsea are really going to push for.
Robinson has been playing really, really well for Fulham and would be a massive upgrade defensively over Chilwell; however, reports suggest that Liverpool and City may already be in the market for “Jedi” and the fact that our interest appears little more than lukewarm does not bode well for beating them to the punch.
