“The manager is in big big trouble” – talkSPORT pundit on Pochettino

Jeff Stelling believes the situation at Chelsea is worrying after the events that occurred in last weekend’s draw with Brentford.

The fans turned against Mauricio Pochettino and the club’s ownership and unsavoury chants were heard in the second half as it appears fans have finally had enough of the situation the Blues find themselves in.

Todd Boehly was at the Bahrain Grand Prix but Behdad Eghbali was in attendance at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Boehly has taken a back seat from the day to day running of the club with Eghbali the driving force behind the decisions being made.

Stelling feels the fact that the fans made their feelings so clear, Boehly should start looking at his own actions as to why things aren’t going well.

Speaking on talkSPORT he said: “As soon as fans start chanting against the owner, it means the manager is in big, big trouble. But the truth of the matter is Todd Boehly has to look at himself because the recruitment has been absolutely hopeless.”

Pochettino is under huge pressure at Stamford Bridge with reports already suggesting that Chelsea are looking at potential replacements for the Argentine with Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi believed to be on the shortlist.

The Blues have two huge matches next week with Newcastle on Monday night and the FA Cup quarter final against Leicester on Sunday and the 52 year old will need to deliver positive results if he is going to prolong his stay in west London.
