One big decision that Mauricio Pochettino had to make today was over Raheem Sterling.
The winger had a bit of a nightmare day at Stamford Bridge last time out, including missing a penalty and getting booed when he was subbed off by Pochettino.
We suspected he might start the game, with the coach looking to give him a chance to redeem himself, but in the end Pochettino went for Mykhailo Mudryk.
That meant Sterling was brought on as a sub, a tense moment all around as we waited to see what reaction he would get from the fans. Luckily it was a positive one. There were cheers and applause as the winger came on.
He then set up Palmer for what should have been the winner with a great backheel flick. If the game had ended there, we could call it a great day for him.
Instead, Burnley went up the other end and scored, then Sterling had the best remaining chance for Chelsea to win it – and fluffed his header completely.
Back to square one…
