Todd Boehly goes to his seat.

“The relationship is good” – Pochettino on Chelsea owners

Mauricio Pochettino has again insisted that he has a “good relationship” with Chelsea’s owners despite being under growing pressure.

Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and Hansjorg Wyss were all at Stamford Bridge last night to see the Blues beat Newcastle 3-2 and close the gap on the European places.

It would have been a huge relief for the Argentine that his side managed to get the win in front of the owners with the pressure really ramping up on the 52 year old in recent weeks.

The fans turned on Pochettino in the draw against Brentford and with the Blues currently enduring another disappointing campaign this was a huge three points.

Chelsea’s owners have been widely criticised for going in the dressing room after games, particularly last season but that didn’t stop them last night.

At the end of the game Boehly looked happy and Pochettino revealed the pair had a quick chat in the dressing room.

In quotes picked up by Football London he said: “Yes, he came with his son, and I think Behdad [Eghbali]. All of the owners were there. Yes, it was a nice chat, only a few minutes because I needed to come for the interview and the press conference. Yes, it was good, the relationship is good.”

Boehly has taken a back seat from the day to day running of the club and hasn’t attended  games as regularly this season.
