The pressure was really on Mauricio Pochettino after Chelsea’s last game. The draw with Brentford saw the away fans really turn on him, and ever since then he’s been barraged with questions about that.
Tonight he gets to hold his head high after a win, and he addressed the “relationship” with the supporters that he said he and his players need to “build.”
The only way to do that, of course, is to keep winning. And they have the perfect chance to do that with another 3 games at Stamford Bridge to come this month.

David Pasztor at “WAGNH” has a great column that resonates with Poch’s call for calm and the fostering of a better relationship with fans. Pasztor’s underlying messsage is pretty clear — despite the inconsistency at times, the results over the last couple of months have been really pretty good (with Liverpool the sole loss) and, in any case, the crescendo of negativity from the fans helps no one, least of all a young team.
