Alan Shearer has revealed which comments from Mauricio Pochettino left him feeling “really frustrated.”
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast the Newcastle legend said he doesn’t understand why the 51 year old commented on what Gary Neville said on commentary during the Carabao Cup final last weekend.
Neville grabbed a lot of the headlines in the aftermath of the Blues defeat to Liverpool with his comments concerning Pochettino’s side.
The Sky Sports pundit labelled Chelsea as “Billion pound bottle jobs” which has subsequently been deemed too harsh by other pundits.
Pochettino was asked directly about the comments after the game and was respectful in his answer but Shearer feels the former Paris Saint Germain manager should have said that he doesn’t care about other peoples opinions his team.
He said: “I get frustrated because the managers answer that. I don’t know why Ten Hag this week, or Pochettino this week, he was asked about Gary Neville’s comment, Ten Hag was asked about Jamie Carragher.”
“I don’t know why the manager doesn’t say I don’t give a **** what he says. Why you asking me a question about that? I don’t care what he says.”
“They have their opinion and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Why should he have to answer a question about what they say? I would just say I haven’t listened to what they said, I don’t really care what they said, ask me another question.”
Pochettino is still under huge pressure despite advancing to the FA Cup quarter finals and can’t afford to suffer a defeat against Brentford tomorrow afternoon with some reports suggesting the Blues are already looking at possible replacements.
