(Video): 18 year old Chelsea talent gets multiple shoutouts in training and could take advantage of latest Sanchez absence

Mauricio Pochettino had to talk about injuries again in his press conference yesterday, and hinted that he might be forced to use academy players in Monday night’s game.

We noticed one doing particularly well in this week’s training video. Ted Curd has been great for the youth teams recently, and his showing in keeper training this week was sensational. Just listen to the number of times you hear his name called out with praise in the space of a minute.

Pochettino also noted how the “good” part of the injuries was that it meant he had got to know some of the young academy players well.

With Robert Sanchez having missed so much time through illness and injury, we wonder if he could include Curd in that? He’s not got a chance of playing this season, but he’s surely done enough to get the coaching staff to keep a close eye on him.
