Chelsea respond to rival fans cheat claims and insist operations are above board

Chelsea have responded to claims that they have cheated the system after their latest operations were revealed.

You can say a lot about the new Chelsea owners, and many Blues fans are unhappy with them for many reasons right now. They have even admitted to making some mistakes since they arrived. But one thing they are very good at seems to be the business side of running the club and in particular, finding key loopholes.

Chelsea released their financial accounts last, published on Companies House for the year ending June 30 2023, which showed a pre-tax loss of £90.1m.

They are confident though, according to The Daily Mail, that they will still comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability (PSR) rules.

And one of the reasons for this is because they have generated more than £76million after selling both hotels on the Stamford Bridge site to another company they own, Blueco 22 Properties Limited, a subsidiary of Blueco 22 Limited.

Insiders at the London club insist that deal was done within the Premier League’s rules and ran by the competition beforehand, adding that they used two independent valuers to ensure a fair price was agreed.
