Second former Chelsea player slams Mauricio Pochettino for tactical decisions

Former Chelsea players have been unhappy with what they have seen from Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino as The Blues fail to beat bottom of the table Sheffield United in their Premier League match last night.

Chelsea and United drew 2-2, despite Chelsea being in front twice in the game and not managing to kick on from it.

Blues legend Frank Leboeuf was unhappy with Mauricio Pochettino’s in-game management and says that he should have put more attackers on and gone to kill the game off rather than defend a 2-1 lead, and he is spot on.

And now, another former Blue Jason Cundy has also slammed Pochettino for one very weird decision he made yesterday, and that was basically playing Conor Gallagher as a left midfielder. Sometimes he was even in the left back or left winger position, it was completely bizarre and as a result, Gallagher wasn’t effective at all and had a poor game.

While on commentary duty for Chelsea’s official website (07/04/2024 at 18:24 – via The Chelsea Chronicle), he said: “Conor Gallagher’s having to drop back at left-back sometimes to pick up the ball. I’m so disappointed with what I’m watching with us.”
