Sources: Chelsea discussing Manchester City and PSG attackers as summer targets

With just five games remaining this season, planning for the summer transfer window is hotting up for Chelsea, with internal discussions on recruitment taking place.

It’s set to be another busy summer at Stamford Bridge with players being moved on and new signings coming through the door.

The club need to be wary of keeping in line with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, and will likely be looking at a host of cheaper and more expensive options in the window.

The Blues are looking at attacking options this summer and could look to bring in a winger depending on the possibility of moving Raheem Sterling on, who has interest from Saudi Arabia.

A centre forward is a priority but that hasn’t stopped Chelsea looking at other attacking players ahead of the transfer window opening.

According to sources, Chelsea are interested in Paris Saint Germain’s Xavi Simons, who is currently having an excellent loan at RB Leipzig.

Sources claim the Blues have discussed the 21-year-old internally as a potential summer target, although PSG are not thought to want to sell one of their rising stars, but sources confirm he is on Chelsea’s radar.

Another name that’s been discussed is Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, and sources claim there’s a feeling within the football industry the 28-year-old could be available for transfer this summer, and would be open to moving to a club where he would have a more important role.

Chelsea’s relationship with Manchester City is good having signed Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer and sold Mateo Kovacic to the Premier League champions.

Sources stress that no move is imminent for either player and they have only been discussed internally, but the pair could be players to keep an eye on if anything does progress.

Grealish would certainly add a lot to Chelsea, and would bring a much needed winning mentality as well as Premier League experience.
