Frank Leboeuf is ESPN’s go to man when it comes to Chelsea, so of course they looked to him for some thoughts on how things had gone in the FA Cup semi final yesterday.
Most people, fans included, had focused on the frustrating way that Chelsea missed chance after chance to put themselves ahead. They showed, once again, a real lack of composure and confidence in front of goal. The more chances they got, the less they looked like scoring.
But former Blues defender Leboeuf found another issue – with the way they had crumbled at the last.
Much as in the same fashion as in extra time in the Carabao Cup final, Mauricio Pochettino’s team threw away all their hard work by conceding a soft goal at the death. If you’re not going to win, at least make sure you don’t lose.
