(Video): How Chelsea ignored Burnley quick free kick warnings and cost themselves 2 points

In his press conference at the end of the game yesterday, Mauricio Pochettino complained bitterly about one part of his team’s performance in particular. There was great complacency once we had gone 2-1 up, and that led to the awful sight of ten man Burnley getting level from a corner.

The highlights didn’t show the sloppy play that allowed the Clarets to get up the pitch easily despite being a man down, but it did show a similar moment in the first half where the commentator complained about how easily their goalkeeper was able to play the ball out in a similar fashion.

Malo Gusto went to sleep and allowed Muric to take a free kick out wide, and Djorde Petrovic had to make a great save from the resulting shot. We didn’t heed the warning, and Burnley won their late equalising corner in a similar fashion in the second half.
