Chelsea fans were mighty frustrated by today’s game because they had a late winner chalked off after a questionable VAR decision.
But eagle eyes Blues noted there was actually a far earlier bad decision that cost their team. That late winner came after Chelsea came back from 2-0 down, with the first Villa goal coming early in the game. That goal should never have happened, as the replay below shows. The ball clearly went out of play as Luca Digne attacked down the left.
It’s a bit a of a stretch – the ball is in play for a long time after this and goes from side to side, but without doubt it’s another bit of frustration and certainly a bad decision from the linesman.
