(Video): The moment that Moises Caicedo showed Chelsea both things they’ve been waiting for

Moises Caicedo wasn’t bought to be a defensive midfielder, he was bought to go box to box and get the team forward with the ball as well as without.

So far this season, we’ve seen two little of both parts of his game. But in plenty of games for a Brighton and a few times this season, we’ve them in flashes. Saturday’s game was probably his best of the season, and one moment summed up the potential impact he could make on attack as well as defence.

A brilliant sliding tackle on the edge of the Aston Villa box showed great physical and technical skill, as well as quick thinking.

He then leapt to his feet and popped the ball so nicely with a little toe poke to Noni Madueke who shot on goal. In an instant Caicedo had won the ball and then created a chance. It summed up a great game and we’re desperate to see more moments like this.
