(Image) – The stats that detail how much 22-year-old star has improved this season

Nicolas Jackson has enjoyed a successful first campaign in England following his move from Spanish side Villareal last summer.

The 22-year-old has exceeded many people’s expectations, scoring 14 Premier League goals and 17 in all competitions, with two games still left to play.

Jackson is clearly still very raw and needs to improve his game inside the box, but has received plaudits for his link up and hold up play, ability to create chances and how he stretches teams with his pace.

Despite this he has come in for a lot of unfair criticism, particularly over the amount of chances he’s missed, and has openly admitted he should have scored more goals this season.

However his improvement since the start of the campaign has been huge with stats detailing how since March he’s scored seven goals in 11 games, compared to the same number in 22 games from August to February, amongst other improvements.

There’s a bright future for Jackson and he would certainly benefit from learning from a more experienced striker should the Blues sign one this summer.
