“Intention to be patient” – Latest report on Enzo Maresca will be laughed at by Chelsea fans

One of the latest reports out today on proposed new Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca will have most Chelsea fans laughing whilst they read it.

The Leicester City boss has not yet been confirmed as the new Chelsea head coach yet, but all signs point towards that happening now very soon.

It’s a rather uninspiring and a very underwhelming appointment by Chelsea, and the fan discourse in general is pretty huge already.

But I’m sure all some fans will be able to do with this report is just laugh at it. And that is because apparently Chelsea intend to be patient with Maresca when he takes the reigns at the club.

Journalist Nizaar Kinsella told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club: “They’ve [Chelsea] always said they want to give people time and then they never do. There is that intention to be patient with him and give him [Enzo Maresca] a chance to bed in, but he’ll have to get on with everyone and not rock the boat. Pochettino was maybe rocking the boat a little bit too much. We talked about the relationship with the owners and the structure – [sporting directors] Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart wanted to retain control.”

We don’t believe you!

Frank Lampard's Chelsea record compared to Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel

This is coming from a club who have had SIX head coaches in charge since their two year tenure so far! And they expect fans to believe a report saying they are going to show patience with the latest one? Right, sure!

I’m very confident that if we get to mid-season and Chelsea are once again sat in mid-table then there would be no hesitation for the club to pull the plug on yet another manager. Although you can also see them digging their heels in to save face! Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that and Maresca does well!
