As expected Cole Palmer cleared up at Chelsea’s end of season awards winning both the Player of the Year and the Players’ Player of the Year.
Palmer has had a superb campaign following his arrival from Manchester City on deadline day last summer, and has become Chelsea’s go to man.
The 22-year-old has scored 24 goals in all competitions, with 21 of those coming in the Premier League, and he became just the third player in Premier League history aged 21 of under to register 30 goal contributions in a single season.
Palmer shares who he voted for to win Chelsea Players’ Player of the Year
With the season the England international has had no one else was going to come close to getting their hands on either of the main awards.
It’s not hard to imagine that almost every player would have ended up voting for Palmer given the impact he has had this season.
Whilst it’s not been a great campaign for the Blues, who find themselves seventh in the table with three games remaining there have been others outside of Palmer who have performed well.
Conor Gallagher has really stepped up this season and has become a key player, whilst Malo Gusto has really impressed in the absence of Reece James, and Nicolas Jackson has bagged 13 Premier League goals.
Palmer couldn’t vote for himself and he shared on Chelsea’s Instagram who he had voted for.
“I voted for Malo Gusto”, he said.
“I love playing with him on the right, he’s been amazing this season when he’s played as well.”
Gusto has also had a brilliant season, stepping into the void left by James, and despite being just 20 years old the former Lyon man has put in a number of impressive performances.
The right back has made 34 appearances in all competitions with 24 of those coming in the Premier League, and has registered eight assists.
