Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that one of his key players is going to miss the game against Chelsea tomorrow evening, and it’s a game he would have really wanted to be playing in.
Spurs make the short journey to Chelsea in the 7.30pm Premier League match tomorrow night and ahead of the game, Postecoglou was asked about his team news.
Sources: Chelsea now discussing Man City & PSG attackers as summer targets
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, striker Timo Werner will not only miss the game tomorrow against Chelsea, he will also now miss the rest of this season.
“There’s two-and-a-half weeks left so he will miss the rest of the season”, Ange Postecoglou says.
This is due to a hamstring injury that he suffered recently. Werner will be gutted to miss out on facing his former club Chelsea tomorrow.
The German international had a very up and down time at the club but he did make himself a bit of a fan favourite during his spell. In the end though, things just didn’t work out between Werner and Chelsea, and he soon returned to his former club RB Leipzig to try and reignite his career.
He then made a surprise move to join Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham on a loan deal, something that shocked many.
Werner has done OK at Spurs and has become a bit of an important player for them. But his chance to face and even score against his former club has been taken away from him now due to injury.
Mauricio Pochettino will very soon be speaking to the media to report his team news for the game, and it will be interesting to see whether Levi Colwill, Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, or Raheem Sterling will be available with all four of them being back in full training for Chelsea this week.
It’s a big game for The Blues!
You are inexcusable oh pouch, resign honorablily than to make yourself a failure in premier league.
