(Video)- Ben Chilwell bravely opens up on his mental health struggles

Chelsea vice captain Ben Chilwelll has bravely opened up on his mental health struggles, particularly during the times he’s been injured.

Chilwell has not had the best of luck with injuries and was sidelined with an ACL injury in 2021, before picking up a major hamstring injury earlier this season which ruled him out for a number of months.

When he has been on the pitch this season he hasn’t looked his brilliant best and it will take time to rediscover his top form, which is no given following the serious injuries he’s had.

Chilwell in full flow is a real asset to Chelsea with the left back contributing both defensively and in the final third, with fans desperate to see that player return.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week Chilwell has been speaking about his struggles, especially during his time on the sidelines and how talking to someone has really helped him.

Chilwell will miss the last two games of the season against Brighton and Bournemouth due to a knee injury which he initially picked up on international duty in March.
