It’s been a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge for Christopher Nkunku with the Frenchman missing large parts of the campaign due to injury.
Nkunku arrived at Chelsea in a deal worth £52m last summer to much excitement, following his brilliant form at German club RB Leipzig.
He looked sharp and impressed in pre season but picked up an injury in the final game which ruled him out for four months, and since returning to action he’s picked up a couple more injuries which have kept him out for most of 2024.
The 26-year-old has returned to the squad for the last three games coming off the bench in each one, and impressed against the Seagulls, taking his goal well.
Following the win Nkunku insisted he was feeling a lot better and is happy having got over his injury problems.
He also expressed his delight at how pleased the fans were to see his trademark balloon celebration for the first time.
A fully fit and firing Nkunku is going to be a huge asset for Chelsea and one fans can’t wait to see a regular basis.
