(Video): One moment to remind everyone why some people say Nicolas Jackson is not a top player

Nicolas Jackson has had more than his fair share of criticism this season, and he’s done a huge amount to shut up a lot of his doubters.

He’s improved all year, and that rawness which was so evident at the start of the year has faded away. But his technique and decision making remains questionable, with a great example in the second half last night. Jackson had the freedom of the Brighton box to square the ball to his two colleagues, yet somehow picked out a defender.

It’s moments like that which make us bury our head in our hands. The image above couldn’t make it more clear. If that’s the situation, you simply have to make that pass. We’d say the same at an intramural game.

Fortunately for Jackson, Chelsea scored soon after, and helped everyone forget this incident. Had it been Brighton who got the next goal, we can imagine the reaction wouldn’t have been so kind.
