What Chelsea player who worked under Enzo Maresca has told his team mates

One current Chelsea player has reportedly been speaking about Enzo Maresca to his team mates at the club, after recently working under the Italian boss.

Maresca has not yet been confirmed as the new Chelsea manager, but the expectation across the board now in the media is that he will be officially confirmed very soon.

But as we all wait for the official announcement, there are plenty of reports going around about Maresca and what to expect from him as Chelsea boss.

There has even been a report out today suggesting that the players are now really excited about this appointment after just a week ago apparently all being so upset that Mauricio Pochettino had left. Life comes at you fast, right?

One of the reasons that the players are so excited, according to The Evening Standard at least, is because one current player used to work under Maresca last season at Leicester City.

Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei played on loan for Leicester City for half of the season and he would have had plenty of experience in training and playing under Maresca as a coach.

The report claims Casadei has spoken to his team-mates in glowing terms about Maresca.

I guess that bodes very well because he is the one in that current Chelsea team who will know Maresca the best, at least the most recent version of him.

Of course, Cole Palmer and midfielder Romeo Lavia will also be well aware of Maresca having played under him at Manchester City when he was the U21s coach there. They actually were part of the team who won the PL2 under Maresca, who has come fresh out of the Pep Guardiola school of football coaching.

It’s a good start that a few of the lads already know him.
