Big Chelsea transfer saga for this summer heats up with offer being prepared

One of the biggest transfer sagas set to explode this summer is already heating up with Chelsea well and truly involved, and an official offer being prepared.

It looks like one club has reacted fast to some news that broke last night involving Chelsea, and now we might have a bit of a battle and a saga on our hands.

Last night it was suggested that Aston Villa had started talks with the reps of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher ahead of a proposed move this summer.

But now, Chelsea might be the ones smiling the most because we could see Tottenham rival Villa for Gallagher and in fact, The Daily Mail are reporting that they are preparing to make an offer to sign him.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with Gallagher for some time now, and it looks like they are about to finally make their move to try and bring him in.

A bidding war would suit Chelsea

Conor Gallagher wanted by Villa and Spurs

It’s been pretty obvious for some time now that Chelsea will be open to selling Gallagher this summer as they look to balance the books by selling homegrown players for pure profit, and a bidding war would suit them just fine as they look to get the highest fee possible for the England international.

The report claims Tottenham sense an opportunity to secure a good value deal for Gallagher before June 30, the cut off for clubs to include transfers in their next set of accounts.

Chelsea sold Mason Mount in deal worth an initial £55million, rising to £60m, last summer. Chelsea will seek a similar fee for Conor Gallagher this summer.

Gallagher, 24, has a year left on his current contract so you’d imagine anything over £50m will be seen as a decent fee incoming for Chelsea this summer.
