Chelsea emerge as strong contenders to sign 123-cap England international

Chelsea have emerged as strong contenders to sign a player who has 123 international caps for England during this summer’s transfer window.

The Blues are looking to get some big deals done this summer, whether it is for the Men’s side or the Women’s side.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea hold talks with Newcastle United owners over multiple transfer deals this summer!

And on this occasion, this will be for the Women’s team.

It looks like Chelsea have a different recruitment strategy for the Women’s team than they do for the Men’s team, because this is the type of signing that you just will not expect in the Men’s department.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea have emerged as strong contenders to sign Lucy Bronze, after Barcelona announced the England right-back would leave when her contract expires on Sunday.

Bronze is certain to be coveted by clubs all over the world but, according to sources, discussions have been held with regards to a possible switch to Chelsea. If the English club pull off the deal, it would be one of the highest-profile transfers of the summer.

Bronze is an experienced 32-year-old player with bags of European and international experience.

Not the way the Men’s recruit

Bronze to Chelsea would be a super smart move

On the Men’s side, they are just recruiting young players and ignoring the balance of adding proven and quality experience and established players in there alongside them, something that has proven to be a problem on the pitch in and up and down season last season.

But on the Women’s side they are seemingly operating in a different way and can understand the importance of adding these types of players to the squad and when there are opportunities like this available, how smart it is to take them up and add such a quality experienced leader to the ranks.

Let’s hope they can push on and get this one done as Bronze would be a fantastic addition.
