(Image): Staggering amount Chelsea have spent on managers after Enzo Maresca

Chelsea have confirmed the appointment of former Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca as their new head coach on Monday afternoon after a quick turnaround.

Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea parted ways by mutual consent almost two weeks ago now, and Maresca is now in the hot seat already.

Sources: Chelsea still eyeing centre backs, winger noise intensifies, Osimhen off the menu – who now?

Chelsea have a history of hiring and firing managers, something that the new owners didn’t want to do. However, they have already fallen into that same habit and have been going through managers like there is no tomorrow since their arrival two years ago.

According to The Daily Mail, Chelsea splashed out £10million in compensation for Enzo Maresca, taking their total spend on managers to £55.5m from 2000 to the present day and Maresca became the fourth most-expensive managerial acquisition of all-time in the process.

This is truly quite an astonishing fee since such a short amount of time!
